Thanks all for the very helpful input and advice. I do plan on giving it a thorough going over, replace all the fluids, grease it up, etc. However, my daughter's wedding is at our house one month from today, so nothing happens until after that!

Here is my next "newbee question for the day:"

I'm starting to think about attachments (the recent torrential rains did a number on my 900 foot driveway). Is it feasible and reasonable to run a box scraper, grader blade, or scoop with the MMM in place? If so, I'd appreciate any input on things to do or not do when doing this.

Thanks!

It's best to remove the MMM if doing anything other than mowing. You will usually end up with clearance problems.:)

I do it every so often when I am too lazy to remove the MMM, but generally I try to plan my work not to have to do it.

As Egon says, you prolly will end up with clearance problems and/or MMM get more beating than necessary.

Thanks gentlemen. So what I'm hearing is that it can be done but needs to be weighed against the clearance issues.

Tell me if this sounds about right: With the mmm on, I could use a boom pole or a carryall to move things around, or maybe a scoop to move a bit of gravel. Perhaps after a summer downpour I might get away with doing some light grading on the driveway with the mmm on, and figure to remove the mmm after I'm done mowing for the season and do more serious grading, digging and logging. If I have a major project that I need to do in the summer, pull the mmm. Does that sound about right to you all?

I'm trying to figure out what attachments to shop for, and thinking about having to pull the mmm any time I want to use any of them makes them seem far less useful!

Again, thanks!
