Hi to All,
I purchased a used B7300 last month, it had 188 hours on it, and came with a L271 FEL, back blade, rock rake, box scraper, & roto tiller. I was looking at getting a little bigger tractor, but this was a pretty good deal so I went for it, figuring I could trade up later if necessary. So far I've mainly just plowed snow, which the B7300 has done a good job of, and moved a little dirt and misc. with the loader. I just ordered a grill guard from the local dealer as I've had a couple close calls using the loader to move objects. I'm planning on buying a rotary mower this spring, I'd like to buy a 60", but I'm thinking a 48" might be the limit for this tractor. Anyone out there with a B7300 mowing with anything bigger than a 48" deck? Many more questions but I'll save them for later. Thanks

Welcome to TBN Kevin.
Just jump right in w/both feet at anytime.
By the sounds you need a little more seat time on your B7300 so come on over, for I got over 15 plus inches of snow to remove..and all the coffee and donuts you can eat. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif
Again welcome to TBN. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

KMS6, congratulations and welcome to the forum. Sounds like you got a nice package with enough implements to handle many different types of projects. Unless your mowing is pretty light, I think I would stick with a 48” rotary cutter. A 60” cutter can get pretty heavy for that size machine.

Kevin, when I had a B7100, I used a 48" Bush Hog rotary cutter - and it was about the right size. I never did get a finish mower for that tractor, but discussed it with my dealer and he recommended staying with a 48" mower for that also. He said he did have some customers using 60" mowers that were happy with them, if the mowing jobs were light, but that they were too heavy to lift with the 3-point hitch. I'm using 60" mowers of both types now on a B2710 and I think the dealer was right.

Thanks for the welcome Thomas, the coffee and donuts would hit the spot right now. Isn't if funny how a new tractor changes your outlook on snow. Last year, and the six before, with only my small Craftsman Lawn Tractor and blade, I really didn't look forward to clearing the driveway of snow. Now, with my new B7300, I can't wait for more snow.
Bird and MarkV, I think you are both right, the 48" mower is probably a better choice this application. I think the slower speeds I would have to operate at with a 60" mower would probably negate the advatage of the extra 12" of cut.
