Just a quick update on the GL3240. Rain finally let off for a few days, and I started actually doing some work with the tractor.
Cleared trees and brush, and leveled pad for new shed. The fender mounted loaded controls are very user friendly. You have the ability to rest your arm on the armrest during use. Loader joy stick operates smoothly. I was little disappointed in the break out force on the bucket, but the lift capacity on the bucket seemed good.
Don't like the safety switch on the seat, because if you raise up an inch it kills the engine.
Shuttle shift transmission is the best of both worlds between a fixed range and hydrostatic. You still have to clutch going forward to reverse, but you don't have to come to a complete stop. You do have to come to a complete stop to shift from High range to Low or vice versa.
Horsepower on the tractor seems ok for what I need. With Ag tires and 4 wheel drive engaged you'll break traction long before the engine stalls. 3 point hitch is SMOOTH, and the draft control GREAT.
All in all the GL3240 is pretty much what I thought it would be.
