New Beer......go easy!!

In my opinion any "beer" artificially designed to go beyond the natural yeast limit of 18% isn't a real beer.
Might as well call it a vodka. Just my 2 cents...

Its NOT beer. Its "beer" brewed for high alcohol as a dick measuring contest.

No way Id spend $80 on a beer either... Maybe on a nice single malt however....

Meh.. horse piss is horse piss.

I have little interest in beer brewed purely for ABV

I say this as Im sipping on a nice double IPA from a local micro brewery The Vicar's Cross | Boxing Rock Brewing Co | Shelburne, Nova Scotia

Some of my home brews are up around 7-8% ABV. I think they were supposed to be a bit higher but they did not get quite as strong as designed. They are strong enough though. I made a mistake a few years ago to drink a 22oz bottle of a 8-9% ABV beer I had bought while I was smoking a pork loin. Well, the 22oz beer was not a problem. The problem was that I had a couple of my 22oz home brews that were in the 6-9% range after drinking the store bought beer. :drink: :licking::laughing::laughing::laughing: Tain't done anything that stupid since. :D:D:D

Most of my brews are in the 4-5% range but I do like brewing some stronger beers as well. I did a bunch of brewing last spring when the weather was still cool to make enough beer to get me through the summer. I still have a decent stock left but I suspect I will be brewing around Thanksgiving to resupply. :D

I agree. I've had beers with 9-10% ABV and that is where the flavor starts to get unpleasant. It's not beer at that rate. I would spend the 80$ on a good single malt or a fine Cognac, "Snake Venom" is a gimmick.

That reminds me, I have to get back in to my homebrewing again. Nothing like it. This time I think Im going to go with kegs vs bottles.
