New Bobcat e35 excavator options

Looking at purchasing a new cab unit, a E35 Bobcat excavator. Would like opinions on two options I'm not sure about. Should I get an angle or straight blade and should I get a standard, long or expandable arm? Thanks!

We cant answer those questions until we know what you are doing. Nobody will know if you need an angle blade or long arm except for you.

Long arm reduces lift and breakout, but extends reach.

Angle blade is a worth while tool, but is about a $5000 option with us (Case).

I will be doing all kinds of work, I need drain tiles in fields, clean up miles of ditches and put in lots more, install culverts, put in a 2200' gas line from the street to the house, pads for outbuildings, footers for an addition to the house and a 250' retaining wall. Dig out smaller stumps and a few projects that I can't remember.

I guess what I was looking for was, is the angle blade worth the up charge for the jobs I have listed and what is the criteria for picking which length arm? Thanks for your help.

If you have a second machine such as a skid or CTL, then dont worry about the angle blade. If this will be your only machine, you may need to get the angle blade. It really does work wonders for filling in trenches.

As far as long arm vs. short arm, look at the lifting capacities on the spec sheet for both. If the long arm will lift everything you'll ever need it to lift, then get that one. If you want higher lift, you'll have to go short arm.

We order most of our 35 sized machines without angle blade but with long arm.

We have sold a few angle blade units out of our store. Mostly to plumbing outfits. They like them because they can windrow the material back into the ditch when doing water and sewer lines in tight areas.:thumbsup:

Thanks so much for your time. The long arm and straight blade was also recommended by my dealer and I do have an angle blade that offsets for the tractor.
