IMG_0439.jpgIMG_0438.jpgJust picked up a new Woods Brush Bull 60. I won't be using it anymore this year since the snow is ready to fly but I couldn't pass up the deal since the dealer was looking to get rid of 2013 inventory.
I won't miss my old light duty Howse flying apart all the time.

Looks like they changed the hitch mount to clevis style - very nice.

Very nice looking cutter, I am still bush hogging and actually do some in the winter when it's not too wet.

That cutter should last a lifetime. Nice.

One thing I love about the Woods Brush Bull is the large access panel in the top for changing blades. That would really make blade changes easier.

I'm hoping to actually get to change the blades. My old hog always flew apart before I dulled them

I have an older BB60 that's been trouble free. Decided to clean up the blades last year and had a go at loosening the fasteners. Used a 2x4 between the cross piece the blades bolt to and the deck to keep the rotor from spinning. Needed a 3/4" drive breaker bar with a 6' section of 2x2 square pipe as a cheater to break the threads loose. Be prepared for a workout. I put some anti-seize on the threads at reassembly so next time it shouldn't be so exciting. That's a very nice cutter, and as Pappy says - should last a lifetime with regular maintenance.

I have had my BB600 for over 10 years now and still love it. Don't see a lot of difference ... I change my blades out every year to sharpen and don't have a problem. 1/2" drive socket to remove the keeper and anything at hand to drive the pin down through the stump jumper and the blade drops right off. Putting it back on was easy with a floor jack. Just jacked the pin back up through the hole and that holds it in place for putting the keeper assy back on.

Looks great, I was going to bushhog today til it rained.

What fun would that be? Just think; you wouldn't be able to dust off your torque wrench, use your torch, use up a can of penetrant and get a good workout spending the day throwing stuff at the dog not to mention saying words you didn't even know you knew.
