Tractor
Kubota BX22 , Simplicity Regent hydro 14HP
After a very long wait I finally have my new machine. Put about 1/2 hour on it so far and I must say I am very impressed with the capability of this small tractor. Now I can add my toothbar, FEL hooks and get to all those projects I have been thinking about during the wait.

Looks great, love mine! I'm continually surprised at just how much power this tractor has.

TomD, out of curiosity, how long did you have to wait for that wonderful little tractor? My dealer told me he had two on order in May. I placed my order at the end of June and was told the "expected" delivery date was "June/July 2003". At the beginning of August, I was told "any day now". Today I was told that he is only recieving one (which is mine since the loan is already approved) some time in September. Am I being strung along? Should I start looking at another dealer?

Just getting a little frustrated. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Don't give up your machine on order...BX-22s are really hard to come by and anything in the pipeline is probably already "bought". Kubota really underestimated demand and even dealers who ordered a ton of them on speculation are pretty much bare.

Danadsr,

I ordered my tractor on June 3. There is a little story to tell here though. When I placed my order I was told delivery would be end of July. Then I was told first week in August---then August 19. Truth is, none of the dealers really have any idea when their orders will come in. Finally I got frustrated because if you do not take delivery by the end of August you loose the 0% financing deal. I called around and got lucky. One of my local dealers had a machine that a guy cancelled on because he decided on a larger tractor at the last minute. The dealer delivered the new BX to me the next day and I got the exact same deal on price. Needless to say, my original dealer still does not have the 4 units he claims are coming any day. According to this dealer he has 7 sold with only 4 expected soon.

Like Jim said in his post don't give up your existing order. I would encourage you however to call around and maybe you will get lucky as I did and find one on a cancellation.

Good luck.

Danadsr and all,

If my dealer doesn't have what you want he calls other dealers and works out a deal to get it. He did this for both of the tractors I bought from him. One last year and one this year.

I just assumed that ALL dealers worked this way...surprised me to hear the sometimes it is the customer that has to do the calling and that a dealer doesn't seem to care if he can lose a sale as the result. I assume he doesn't care because if he did he would have been on the phone himself.

Now it did take my dealer about three weeks to get me an in-the-crate bx2000 in July, but he did come through...I told him I did not want one that had a couple hours on it as in my mind that would equate to MANY cold starts in the demo mode...

TomD, Hopefully I have the financing locked in. My loan was approved at the beginning of August. According to the dealer, all I'm waiting for is the tractor so we can get the serial## on the paperwork. Sort of makes me think that since Kubota is really inconveniencing a lot of folks, they could offer a voucher for free filters and fliuds for the first 50 hr change.

Don't mean to sound like a whiner, but the waiting is killing me.

Please enjoy for you and me!
I have one in the barn and I get to watch my 12 yo son work with it (he's pretty good with it BTW!). I had back surgery recently. I haven't been on the tractor since July 28th and probably won't be able to use it for another 2 months or so . . . OUCH!
It's a great machine and I'll probably get to use the backhoe more in the future now that I have back problems. I won't be able to do as much with a shovel as before!
Enjoy,
Terry
