New BX2200!

I am new to TBN. I took delivery of my new BX2200 yesterday. I got the FEL, turfs, 60" mower and 5' rear blade, plus some smaller accessories(grill guard, hooks, etc.). I love it! My exposure to tractors is minimal, my only expereince being with the occasional use of the Kubota's from the local rental service. This forum was a tremendous help determining what tractor was best for me. My thanks to all! Now I've got a lot to learn and I look forward to getting as much info from the existing posts as I possibly can. I'll post a pic once I get a battery for my camera. Can I drive the Kubota to Wal-Mart??? /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Congratulations! I took delivery of mine earlier this week - must be the Spring weather. I have the BX2200, 60" deck, a 17 cu. ft. cart and a Land-Pride rear-blade. Will probably also get a post-hole digger by the summer.

So far, so good. Mowed the rough pasture (1 acre of 12" grass) and lawn (another acre - 5") without any problems apart from the 12" deep ruts that were left in the pasture by the guys who came in to drill the new well. Just took care of those this morning with the rear-blade. Probably would have been easier with a box-scraper, but just took a few more passes ... the FWD and diff-lock certainly help when you're doing this with turfs on.

Seems to be perfectly matched to my property. The rear-blade was a bugger to get off (was delivered mounted) and back on again though. I ended up making a stand for the hitch end - and I was glad to have my rubber mallet handy /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif. If the lower arms remain that stiff then I'm up for a lube job. In contrast the deck is a piece of cake to take on and off. That's a great design.

I also found this board very useful in the decision process - thanks to all for being a lively community.

Steve, RPM, wait… I just found out the BX stands for Ballistic X-plosion. Mine self destructed when the hour meter turned 220.0!

Just kidding /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif. I hope that your machines bring you as much pleasure as mine has. And remember, the Owner's Guide doesn't give you really important facts, like TBN! So stay with us!

Thanks Guys. And congrats to you also! Roy, please do not give me cause for heart failure!I I got the tractor to delay that threat. RPM, as you can see in the background of the attached, I don't think I'll have to worry about mowing until mid to late June. So I took the deck off earlier today, and for a first timer, it was quite a chore. But I can see where it would be relatively easy for an experienced owner, though.

Congrads Steve. You will love it. Today was the first day in two weeks I have been able to get on mine. The wife looked at me as I came home from work early today with a smile on my face, and just told me to be back in by supper (I did make it!).

Steve, tell us about those kewll looking hooks on your loader, man. I really need some of those--how are they attached?, where did you get them?
Yeppers, those BX's are flying out the showroom door, saw a trailer from the "other" dealer with two BX's and a ZTR headed for new homes on the highway. Everyone wants a BX. When I spread some contaminated soil for my neighbor across the way who is into "big" everything though he has no real tractor, just a big GT you should have seen the look on his face when I plopped 4 scoops into his pickup and sent the bed down all the way to the axles and then began digging some more and put it in a ditch and then when he saw me drop the boxblade and mash on the pedal the little 'bota belched a little smoke and then made like a Dozer pushing dirt this way and that I could tell he was seriously wanting a BX. I push my boxblade backwards and drag my bucket in float for grading, I sometimes weight the bucket with soil. I found a trick with my blade was to drop the scarifiers one notch and then tilt the bucket foward so it rides just a tad above the ground sliding on the scarifires in reverse really works great for pushing out/spreading dirt. Tilt it back and pull the scarifiers up and it is a mini dozer blade in reverse. I use the thing going backwards more than forward. Hi Steve,
I think that you will really enjoy the bx2200.I just finished my 50 hr service on mine,I have a bx2200 with the 60" deck,grass catcher, front snow blower and the FEL. This is my 1st 4wd tractor,and I'm very pleased with it.The snowblower got a workout this winter,and did a super job.I have the bar tires,but am thinking of getting the turf tires for the lawn.I'm in Ma.also a couple of towns west of Worcester.
