I've had by new BX23 for about 3 weeks. On delivery one of the FEL hoses would not uncouple, pried it off and replaced the end, ok. On my 60" mmm one of the wheels rubs againts the deck housing, rubs the paint off the deck and is wearing off the wheel. It looses power, this may be my fault for lack of knowledge, if I try scooping dirt with the FEL, it will bog down and NOT spin the wheels (is that correct?). I also pulled down a pretty steep slope to dump a bucket of dirt and the tractor would not back back up. It was in 4x4, low range, full throttle, and would just "grunt" not spin or back up. Finally after a minute or so of trying, it backed up. The dealer told me to NOT press the foot pedal all the way down.

Any advice? Thanks

Paid 16,300, w/mmm and tires loaded

I am sure someone more knowlegable will comment but I have read here that the way hydrostatic transmissions work you have more tork if you DON'T push the pedal all the way down. I haven't tried to push mine very hard yet. So I can't really say if the tires should spin or not but I would think it would depend on the surface and the tires.

Do you have any power problems while on flat ground?

This should not happen. There's a couple of recent threads re. this subject. The MMM may not be adj properly.

Re. the quick connect not uncoupleing, the obvious question is did you make sure and relieve pressure of the implement before you attempted to uncouple? Pressure on either side will not allow them to couple/uncouple.
If you let your BH or FEL sit unattached for an extended time, they may re-pressurize themselves which will not allow you to reconnect them, what you need to do is to relieve the pressure in the implement by depressing the center valve stem by pushing it in, I use a 3/8 drive socket extension and a rag.
re. power for driving up hills, I've got some pretty steep hills that my BX23 w/FEL & BH mounted will barely climb in low gear but has no problem mowing in high gear w/ only the MMM mounted. Together the BH & FEL add's nearly 900lbs. Agree w/your dealer re. more throttle and less pedal.

I just did my 50 hr and have no qualms about going WOT now when needed but I kept that to a bare minimum during breakin.

Is the parking brake on? I accidentally drove around with it on and noticed a loss of power on a hill only to look down and see the brake on. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I experience my 23 doing many of the same items you have listed. The coupling issue is as previously stated, pressure has built up in the lines. I use a screw driver to depress the nipples and occationally need to do this a couple times to relieve the pressure. I don't park my loader or backhoe in the sun while it is off and this has nearly eliminated this problem.

I have never not had my 23 climb a hill. If I read correctly you seem to have problems backing up a hill. Backing up seems to be different and the gearing must not be the same. I have experienced this as well. Once the tractor is turned around and going forward, it climbs well.

When I push dirt, sometimes my tires spin, sometime the tractor bogs down and doesn't do anything. I don't know the reason for this though.

The output torque of a hydrostatic is theoretically independent of the speed command (pedal position). In reality the characteristics of the overpressure relief valves in the hydrostatic, there is actually a slight increase in torque as the pedal is pushed more. The other factor that must be considered in hydrostatic transmissions is that hydraulic motors (the output part of the hydro trans) have a 10-20% reduction in output torque at stall, as compared to when they are turning. This is slightly offset by the above mentioned factor, so overall, at stall the torque is somewhat lower than when moving, independent of the pedal position.

rpalmer:

My BX22 can easily climb a 45 degree incline when I am in lo-4WD. I can climb half that incline with a bucket full as well.

Sounds like something is wrong, or as mentioned, the brakes are set.

No problems on flat ground. The brake is not on. It just seems flaky sometimes. Also, I can't climb much of any hill in high range, even w/o the deck running, no attachments. Maybe I expect to much.

No offense - but after spending over $15.000 you shouldn't be prying off coupling ends or using screw drivers on anything ...

This is the friggin' problem with our society today - this is what the consumers get today because everyone accepts shoody workmanship and poor performance - you better start screaming and don't let em' get away with anything...
