Tractor
Kubota BX24
I've been hot and cold on the tractor search for a couple of years and have recently ramped my efforts up and have made my mind up to purchase a BX24 or 25. My original plan was to go used. So, I've been checking Craigslist every night, tractor house, Kubota dealers etc. My inquiry is twofold.

First, looking for pricing opinions, recommendations, info.
-I have reviewed and looked at my share of used BX24's and BX25's. Some of the used pricing is unbelievable, but at the same time speaks volumes for Kubota resale value and quality. I recently got a price on a new 2012 BX25 at $15,800 from a dealer or $16,500 if I want to take advantage of their 60 and 0% deal. Seems like a no brainer or too good to be true?? Most late model low hours used tractors seem to be within a couple grand of this number.

Second, I'm looking for advice on attachments. I do not have lots of property to maintain but I have a list of projects that the BX will make easier and a lot more fun (and lets be real the list will only get longer). So I see myself as a light to medium duty type of user. I'm thinking a box scraper and either a 42" or 48" bush hog. I do not want to go dirt cheap. I appreciate quality even if I will not necessarily put extreme wear and demand on these. What kind of recommendations/comments/opinions can you pass on pertaining to brand, specs, pricing, etc?

Last, I sure hope using my tractor (when I get it) will be as much fun as reading thru all the great discussions on this forum has been! Looking forward to hearing what you guys have to say!

Same conclusion most buyers arrive at. If one is financing then the new tractor is less expensive than the used tractor. New has to also have some value for each person to determine for themselves.
Get the heaviest implement you can afford is my advise based on my experience.
Don't know that I could ever give up my BX25.........unless Barlows came up with a great trade for a BX26 or BX27.:D

If the great deal comes from the dealer, I'd jump on it. You will just say - how did I ever lived without my BX before?

as for attachments, I'd would just have your dealer add everything you want in the deal. 0 percent for 60 months for tractor and attachments? This is how I got my BX24 with tiller. I wouldnt do it any other way.

When comparing used to new, make sure you're taking into account what is included. On the new price quoted, what all does it include? On the Kubota site you have to pay for the BH bucket and 3pt hitch separate, at almost $700. If you want a mower deck, another couple thousand. If any extras you'll want or need will be added on top of your current quote it can start adding up pretty quick.

If the used has a number of extras already included there may be more of a price difference between new and used than it initially looks.

You've probably already looked at these factors, but just wanted to mention it in case...

DAT what have you decided on? Indeed the resale is INCREDIBLE. That really
was one thing that so pushed me towrds the Kubota, that and the free loan
was / is great. I put 5K down, although I was told I could finance 100%
of the total if I pleased PLUS I could add any Land Pride implement / accessory
i wanted to the tab! I kept it modest w/ the $5K down and no extras, kinda
glad I did. I will get them eventually or build them.

Just bought a new BX25 w/backhoe and loader and love it. Already planted trees removed tree stumps and will start on a sprinkler system. Next purchase will be a posthole digger w/9" auger. This thing is better than four pairs of hands.:cool2:

I just bought a new BX25 two weekends ago. Got about 7 hours on it now. Even my wife says, "how did we ever live without this tractor. We had a BX2200 we sold a couple years ago and she didn't think we'd ever miss it. I can't tell you how many times I could have used it in those 2 years we were without it. We got the 0% financing as well. At first she was didn't think I needed the backhoe and just wanted me to by a tractor, MMM, and a loader. But after she watched me dig some woody bushes out of the ground with it and knowing it would have taken a long time with the ole handy spade, she soon realized the flaws in her thinking. We love the BX25.

I was really impressed with this little work horse and unlike my friends who turned into David Copperfield after promising to show up for projects, this thing is in the barn ready to go!!!
