I am not good with words but will explain the best way I possibly can.
A monoblock valve is all one unit, no matter how many spools or banks that you have. Cast and machined as one unit.
A stacked valve, each spool or bank is cast and machined seperatly and then assembled side by side, and usually has orings between them.
