With gas prices as high as they are, I decided I needed a vehicle that is a little easier on my wallet at the pumps than my Explorer. I picked up this Pontiac as my daily commuter. (54 miles round trip to work) It's got a 2.2 Liter 4 cyl. 140 horse, 5 speed manual and AC. Thats it. I went with a bare bones car to try and keep it as inexpensive as possible. Been driving it about 5 days now. So far it's alot of fun! It's pretty peppy and handles well. Haven't given it a drink yet so I don't know the gas mileage. I'll keep the Explorer parked and use it to run to the lumber yard and such. Just thought I'd share a pic. or 2.

Regards,
Duber

Good choice! It's made right around the corner from me, in Lordstown Ohio, along with the Chevy Cavalier and the new Cobalt. Thanks for keeping the neighbors working! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I filled the tank Saturday evening. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif 32MPG!! That's double the mileage I was getting with the Explorer. I'm extremely pleased with that!!

Hi,
I am glad you are happy with it. I have a 2000 Pontiac, 2.2L , 5 speed and love it too!! And the milage is so much better than my old 1996 Escort gave me.

Take care

/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif LOL Tell your wife that the car is a bit out of character for me. It must be mid-life thing. I just wanted something totally different and cheap! Here's a picture of the Explorer I've been driving for 8 years. I hope it looks more like a TBN vehicle.

WilliamBos,
I'm glad that you're still happy with your Sunfire after 5 years. I hope that I have the same luck. Thanks for the feedback.

I wish that fuel was so inexpensive here in Oz!
We're paying $1.20 a litre.
That's about $4.80 a gallon.
So 3 bucks a gallon sounds pretty good from where I'm looking!
It's all relative I guess? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

#$%^*&!!! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif I'd have to resort to a bicycle or a moped. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif At the minimum, invest in a locking gas cap!
