Does anyone out there have any opinions on the new series tractors from Case?. I saw them for the first time last week and since I am in the market for a new tractor, wondered if they are reliable, prone to breakdowns, made by who?

The Case DX series are are now made by Fiat. Fiat also happens to make the New Holland TC "Boomer" series. If you compare the Case DX Line with the New Holland Boomer Line you will see that the difference is primarily color. There are a few other differences, such as the Case line not having Supersteer option, but they are identical otherwise. Try the Case/IH forum (up a couple from "Other Brands") for further specifics. The New Holland forum has more traffic, and much of the information there applies to the Case line.

Are you sure they are made by Fiat? I know Case/New Holland is owned by Fiat. But I thought the New Holland and Case compacts were mostly Shaburo from Japan.
I believe some of them are assembled in GA.

You are right. I haven't found one component on mine that says "Made in Italy" /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Mostly Shibuara in Japan and a lot of US made components....

You would be hard-pressed to find many parts stamped "Made in the USA" in a Ford Focus, yet wouldn't you still say the car was "made" by Ford?

Fiat owns Case/IH and New Holland. Sure parts come from all over, and assembly may be done in other countries, but the tractors are still "made" by Fiat. Overall, the DX and TC models are nearly identical.

Yes, but I wouldn't say the same about the Ford Aspire. I would say Ford sold it, Ford marketed it, but I wouldn't say they "made" it. It's made in Korea. I wouldn't say Mercedes makes the Dodge Neon, yet that's more accurate than your statement about Fiat/ NH. My Century isn't made by American Jawa, it's made by Kukje. Just because American Jawa adds a loader and tires, doesn't allow them to say they "made" it. If that were the case, I could say I "made" a Ferrari by adding a set of wheels and a spoiler.
Shibura "makes" the NH CUTs in Japan. NH does final assembly and adds specific components in the US. NH is a subsidiary of Fiat. I think that's about as close as you can tie them together accurately. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif What a lovely thing the English language can be /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
