i do not have anything to ask or anything, just wanted to let you guys know that i have been reading your discussions on Mahindra tractors now for quite a while and find the information very informative and useful. about a month ago i purchased a new 3525di with fel, trailer, and boxblade. my hobby is woodworking, i do the full spectrum i get my own logs cut them up with my mill, and dry the lumber in my kiln, then my elderly father and i build furniture with it. the tractor was purchase to help us get logs and move them around. i know there are bigger tractors, stronger, 4wd, etc. i just purchased what i needed to do the job and make our hobby more enjoyable. the tractor is wonderful enjoy it alot, i has done everything i want so far ( we cut up oak, cypress, and cedar exclusively). thanks!

Where are you located, murray?

The reason I as is that I and my dad have several large oaks (white, northern red, chestnut) that were blown down during storms over the past year. I've counted 7 that are 20"+ dbh just on my 14 acres. There's no telling how many are down on Dad's 120 acres.

I've considered purchasing a portable mill to saw lumber from them, but would really rather just hire it out and divide the lumber as partial payment for the job. If you're located near NW Alabama, I'd like to talk with you. If not, do you know of a resource (website, association, etc.) that might have a listing of independent sawyers with portable mills that might be interested in sawing these trees?

BTW, good luck with the tractor. It sounds like you made a good decision in your purchase. I'm sure the tractor with FEL makes life much better in your line of work.

Thanks,

BR

Sorry there but i live i southwest louisiana (lake charles). i don't know about any locations on the net for sawyers but i do know that Timber King and Woodmizer can tell you the name, phone, and address of people who own mills around you. I know this won't matter much now, but i would have helped you out if you would have lived close to me, Thanks i sounded like a great opportunity to get some nice lumber for both sides.
