Very nice machine:thumbsup: I'm sure it will treat you right.
You're one of the few posters who doesn't have snow for a background:)

I really like my 4320. Therefore, I think you will LOVE the 4720. I think the 4000 series is the perfect size utility tractor. It will do everything except for the REALLY BIG stuff!! :D

Thanks for all the encouragement and well-wishes.

I put in a few more hours of seat time today, familiarizing myself with the machine. I posted a video that my wife shot on YouTube. I cut down some dead pines, and was using the 4-in-1 to move the brush to a pile on the back of my property. It's taking some work to get the hang of the bucket, but it sure is handy.

Take a look....

Nice Tractor! I bought a 4120 a few months ago. Just passed 50 hours and I absolutely love it! The 4x20 series are just awesome machines. I ended up putting a cab on mine due to the cold weather in my neck of the woods. Enjoy....:D

What size are your front tires? They look much wider than my R4s...

You know, I'm not sure, I just thought they were the standard R4's. Unfortunately, I won't see my beloved machine again until Saturday, since I keep it at the property 50 miles from the house. I will check and let you know.

Jenkinsph, please tell me more about canopy lights - in all of the research I did, I never saw a picture or an options list that included canopy lights. I know you can never have too much lighting! :)

And now that you mentioned the box blade, before delivery of the new machine, I posted regarding ballast for this tractor. I was curious if my blade would be sufficient. This is a 72" blade, and it just about covers the wheel width of the tractor (maybe 2" short on each side). It weighs in at about 550#.

I originally wasn't sure if I should load the tires, purchase wheel weights, etc., or if the box blade would be sufficient. After operating it for a couple of days, with the weight of the CX loader and the HD 4-in-1 bucket, I think I will need more weight. I'm guessing about double the weight of the box blade.

I'm interested in opinions - think I could attach a few hundred pounds of suitcase weights to the blade, buy a ballast box or should I load the tires? I also plan to do some relatively light field work this spring (pulling 2 bottom plow, disc, ripper, planter), and I'm not sure if loaded tires will negatively impact this work.

We had the tires loaded on our 4120 with R4's - no regrets. It adds about 1000 lbs and greatly improves traction. We never spun a wheel blowing snow with the 74" Frontier blower this winter - without chains. Didn't even need to use 4wd much. R4's float pretty well, so it shouldn't increase the wear and tear on your fields.

mburke,
If I can make it out to the ranch today or tomorrow I will take pics of my 820 canopy tractor. For the boxblade I use a Frontier BB1284 (made by Gannon) it weighs about 1250 lbs and is a good match for your tractor.
