I have an opportunity to buy a 2005 GT235 for $3000 from a private owner. Its never been used. only like 5hrs. on the clock. Does that sound like a good deal? How do these compare to the new x300 mowers which seem to be cheaper in price than the old GT series?

Thats a great deal! New they were/are over $5000. I would take that machine in a heart beat for that price. Its a proven design thats been around for a few years, and should serve you well.

It is a way better tractor than the x300 as well. Get it, it's a sweet deal.

That's a pretty good price, because we are advertising my dad's 335 here locally for $4800 with deck with about 60 hours (He wants a ZTR), so you can see what kind of deal that would be. Not as heavy duty as a 300 series (the older ones) but good nonetheless.

Thanks for the advice. I went ahead and bought the tractor but I decided to continue to use what I have now. (wife decided) I guess I will resell it and try to make a few bucks. I'll try to sell it for $3500. The tractor only has 1.8 hours. Should be a good deal for someone else also.
