New DK35 or used DK45?

Well, got the quote on the new 45 - about what I expected - $2400 more than the new DK35 and used DK45. Pretty much in line with good prices for DK45's posted over the last several months. Includes Ag tires, 1470 FEL (QA) or dealer will substitute a Woods FEL (also QA).

Seached but can't find much on the Woods FEL vs the 1470. What little I did find on the Woods looked interesting. Anbody know about how these might compare?

There is a new KL1470s loader out for the new style DK45s, it is a MUCH improved design. I would go with the KL451 loader if going the DK45s though. It is by far the best.

What's the difference between these two loaders? I looked at a DK45S and can't remember which loader it had.

The KL451 is self-level 2800lb capacity, and the KL1470s is non self level and is 2100 lb capacity. The KL451 also comes with standard QA, and Grill Guard.

Bit the bullet and settled on the new DK45, (not an "S'" model unfortunately). Price will be <21K on the package (FEL, 6' rotary cutter, and blade) but we are still discussing "WHICH" FEL and how much less. The best price is with two loaders on the lot.

My options:

Kioti 1470
Woods 1012

$450-550 more
Kioti 1590
Woods 1016

I don't know if this is a "new" 1470 design or not (probably not, since he did not seem to know about such a change for DK45). This dealer had a history of problems with the 1470 loaders, and used to put Woods on Kiotis. The specs on the Woods 1012 are lower than the 1470, while the 1016 are similar (for more money). Just don't know what to make of his concerns with the 1470.

Should I stick with 1470, consider the 1016, or move on up to the 1590? (Is the KL451 an option on the DK45, and how much more than the 1470 should it run?)

I did not know they were still making the older 45 model. I thought every 45 now was the 45S model. I can comment on the new KL451 loader. Plenty of power. I had 50 sheets of 5/8 plywood on a set of forks and rolled the whole stack back at idle. I thought that was pretty good. I don't know how much that weighed. I'm guessing 1200 to 1500 lb. When I was looking at a 45 everyone told me to get the 1590 loader. Then I found the 45S and bought that instead. Very happy with it. Good luck

There are still some field inventory DK45 old style tractors left out there. All 45's shipping out of Kioti warehouses are the 45s.

Each and everytime I go out and do something with the tractor I'm always impressed with the power and ease of use. Very easy to get around with. Never even use low range. All my loader work is in medium range 2nd or 3rd gear. Rolls dirt right over the bucket in 2nd gear 4x4 engaged.

Maybe no one wants to say it, but I will. Go with the Woods loader over the 1470, the 1016 or the 1012 will probably give you much better results than the 1470. However, since you're talking about the older DK45, I would try to get the Woods 16 for the same price because you CAN get a new DK45S for just a bit more than your quote for the same equipment.

Hello Karst, In regards to your loader, if you cant get the new Kioti loader for your dk45 i would not get the woods 1012 for that machine. While the Woods 1012 is a excellent loader, i have one on my Ck30, the Dk45 for would easily handle the 1016 and id bet it would handle the 1020, which is a very powerful loader.. Check out the specs for each at Woods websight.. Good luck... Matt
