The HST mentions and shows pictures of the mid PTO in the manual as well but it does not have one. That was were my confusion was with the earlier post.

Mine is ordered. Dealer said I'll have it early Oct. I ordered the loader and backhoe with it. Mine will be used mainly for snow clearing. dealer also said there were some changes to the cab but couldn't tell me what they were.

The DK45S has rear and front PTO.

The front PTO is pretty much worthless for any practical uses that American tractor owners might have.

I've seen photos of a Deutz tractor running a six or seven foot bush hog type cutter up front. Great for brush clearing. Wish we had those.

Just to clarify, we are talking about a mid PTO correct?

As for a true front PTO MF is offering them on their '08 six cylinder 5400 series tractors along with a front 3pt. hitch in the US this year. NH is offering them on some of theirs as well such as their vineyard tractors. They are far from useless in my opinion. If I was running a larger farm and doing lots of silage and hay work I would be running one. They are great for tilage and planting as well. With the cost of fuel you can save lots of time and money by doubling up on many task.

My off topic post was about a true front PTO on the Deutz. I don't know anything about a mid PTO on the DK series.

I don't either. I know they picture one in the manual but I have yet to see one that actually exist.

I think the manual for my CK35 list it as having a front PTO. I took that to mean they were talking about the splined stub shaft sticking out of the crank pulley. I don't know how you could connect any kind of PTO shaft to it with the radiator, battery, hyd. cooler and all that other stuff up front in the way.

That's what I was talking about, the only worthwhile PTO on the 45 is in the rear.

In response to IslandTractor's comments about a brush cutter up front, there are units for the "bobcats". The unit I saw only had one wheel for support out front. Not sure if this would be good for the FEL overtime.

I think it would be cool to see a finish mower configured to run out front on the FEL...then you don't have to worry about tires mashing down the grass? Sounds like a ZTR unit, but better!!!!! Sorry got off topic too.
