New Holland TC35D w/ 16LA FEL
OK everybody, I need some input. Mainly from you guys from the new england area that have bought boomers, specifaclly TC35D's. But I will have an open ear for input from anybody.

My local dealer just called me with the folowing prices.
TC35D w/ R4 loaded tires and
16LA loader W/ HD bucket $21,900
Quick-tach system $649 and they will swap buckets even stevens.
MID 2000 RPM PTO $1,500
1 set rear remotes installed $350
Canopy $450
Grill guard $200 cash & carry
Comes to a total of $25,049
I am unsure of the various attachments, but I think and feel that the tractor/ loader price seems high.

Mark, I can't help much but here is my input. The $649 seems real high for the quick-tach system. I paid $450 for Kasco's version on my TC33D because NH doesn't make a system for my size tractor. Hopefully you won't have to pay that much for it but I would definately recommend getting the system right from the start. Also, I only paid $250 for the first set of rear remotes on my tractor but I did put them on myself. It wouldn't be worth $100 for me to have somebody else do it. It is an easy job and the kit comes with decent instructions. Besides doing it yourself gets you a little bit more familiar with your tractor.

I believe I paid almost $1,000 more for my TC18 than the cheapest price I saw on TBN. NE price are higher. The best you can do is call around to a few other dealers. I've been very happy with mine Chappel Tractor. He's a bit south of you, but still in the Granite State.

Also check the other brands, this may give you some ammo with which to negotiate. In my case, the Deere was $2,000 more than the New Holland (Deere dealers didn't want to deal).

Mark,

I bought my TC35D from Chappell back in March of 2002.

TC35D, 16LA w/ HD bucket, R4s loaded, First Rear Remote...$ 20,600. This price included some NH incentive $ that was available then.

I freely admit to not being the best negotiator or the biggest bargain hunter, but I was hands down impressed by the dealer..top notch all the way.

After looking at Deere and talking to thier 'dealers' ( term used loosely )...it was sure nice to talk to a straight shooter.

Talk to them...its worth the trip.

Remember that this is most likely a long term investment...much longer than your car or truck. Your paying for the relationship as well as the hardware.

Good Luck

Mark, I don't know how far Saco, ME is from you but Scamman Tractor is on US rt 1. Phone is 800-264-5544 and ask for Rick. He is a straight shooter and a nice guy as well. They are having their 2nd annual open house from 9am-2:30pm on April 5. Bill C

Mark, Can't help with those high prices up in the NE, but here in NC I paid 18,500 for the TC35D4 with grill guard and HD bucket 18months ago. If you've got a trailer it might be worth it to shop around the east coast a little. There's a good dealer in Johnston City TN too.

Hey MArk: they are a nice tractor, seems like you might get a better deal than the prices listed but things are more expensive here in the northeast. Lloyd

gary, If you think our tractor prices are high, you should have a look at real estate and houses!!

In some areas of MA, house prices have gone up by almost 100% ( that's right ...double ) in a little over 4 years. It's nothing to see a 3 bedroom house with a postage stamp lot within 70 miles of Boston sell for $ 400K - $ 500K.

That extra $ 2000 for a tractor doesn't seem too bad considering. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Regional differences can be extreme and quite variable. I can't believe the costs my Brother-in-law is paying to build in California...$ 14,000 permit fee just to connect to the town's water main !!!

Mark, I'm new to Tractorbynet however, I have been doing some pricing on a TC-40D of which I will be purchasing this summer. I don't have the price quotes in front of me but I believe Ted, at Chappell tractor in Brentwood, NH and Kevin at Union Farm & Equipment in upper Maine may do a little better on the pricing, not thousands though. The more implements you buy with the tractor will drive the cost down. You should be able to get these two Co. on the web.
Good luck.
