New England Weather!

As luck would have it on Monday I decided to take off the snowblower as the temperature was in the 60's and we are in our Mud Season so working on the road mud is much easier without the snowblower attached.

Well we are looking at a March storm with anywhere from 12 to 24 inches of the white stuff starting sometime this afternoon. So out to put the snowblower back on!

I heard many different forecast of this storm...6"-12" ending late Saturday evening...12"-18" end 2pm Saturday...but this I know,Bota ready,ground thaw,and the robins aren't going to be happy. good ole New England weather.

With all of the mud around, I just thought we would get 3 or 4 inches and it would be gone in a day or two, but with the warnings for this storm coming our way I might need the blower. Not a big deal already hooked up and ready to go.

Nice looking Super A! I had a Super C with wide front end, really nice tractor, but I didn't have enough things with it to make it worth having. It sat in the yard for a year and like a fool I did not put a exhaust cap on and used a coffee can, well can leaked and water got into the engine. Really a major problem and I ended up selling it for peanuts. So, get a cap on the muffler Scott! I am sure you keep it undercover though.

Yeah, I keep it in the garage ! It sits right next to my 42 Farmall A They keep each other company ! I use the Massey up in Vt to maintain that property, used to use the 42 A with the sickle mower to cut the fields but the rotary mower is much faster with the diesel !

It looks like you guys can get a fair amount ! Have fun !

That is good to keep them inside if you can.

As for the weather, they make such a production of it on the TV it is hard to believe or actually know what to expect. right now it is about 22 degrees cloud cover and gusting to about a 10 mph wind. With us mud season is worse than any snow we can get.

I visit Ct durring the week,to work, and return home to Vt on the weekends !

I just finished plowing out from the 13" of snow we got yesterday and early this morning with this storm, but with temperatures in the mid20's it seemed like spring. The flocks of male robins I saw earlier this week are not "happy campers" , but the two male red winged blackbirds at my feeder station are holding their own with the "locals". I know Spring is coming based on the bird song changes and bird behaviors (The males are getting horny.) Some winters the snow seems to linger a tad too long- I remember that big May snow storm in 1977 that dropped around 20+" in western MA, and it seems like we always get a nice size snow storm in April as well. Snow storms during Mud Season makes for really ugly snow banks, and "She Who Must Be Obeyed" generally has a comment or two or reserved for those occassions when some of the driveway ends up somewhere else when I "manage" the snow.
