I had the injector pump rebuilt on my big Ford tractor - $1100 job.
Ran the tractor 250 hours, and it acted up. took it back to the mechanic, he said I let the pump run dry (this model has motor oil resivor to lube the injector pump). Was $400 to refurbish.
Well, it's 450 hours between oil changes on those pumps, so - I guess he never really put oil in it other than the install lube, and me, I never checked it.....
I didn't say anything. My fault for not checking things over in the long run. I coulda shoulda woulda.
