I don't think FOton is using perkins in the 40. If it is it will have a perkins label on the engine like the 70 and 80 do. I'd be interested in the brand shown on the label if you get a chance to post it. Farm Pro has this tractor now, but I am still waiting to get mine in from them...

Sounds like you got a heck of a deal.

I got to see the 55hp at the dealer in Elhorn Ne. At first glance it appeared to be very rough compared to the 25 and 30's. There was a huge tank behind the seat. Large tractor.

The new 25's and 30's look considerably better than they did 2 years ago. Looks like the dealer was doing a good job cleaning and polishing them up.
thx
Jim

IF you are talking about a 55HP Farm Pro, it is Benye, not Jinma or Foton. Benye is notable for having build a significant portion of the Rhino tractor line. do not know if there are very many being imported at this time. The JInmas have improved a lot since last year this time. More paint on chassis, fewer leaks, weeping, etc. Paint is better or they are being more careful putting htem togeter. I think the crating is better. The new "20" series will be even nicer, but a little more expensive.

Yes he did have the 55hp. Heres a pic from the Benye site. The Farm Pro had a Koyker loader, ROPS, sunshade. It was a big tractor.

That's what Chip...3 or 4 line of tractors that Farm Pro is using? I'm surprised that they haven't kept it to maybe just 2 brands to simplify things like stocking parts. I wonder if they might decide down the road to quit 1 or 2 of them and make it hard for those who need parts down the road.

I believe there are very few parts that cross between size series. ie Jinma 200 series vs 300 series. It looks to me, that they are trying to choose which they feel is the "best" for a particular tractor size.

Tractor wise, there are only three, Yancheng (Jinma) Benye (only the 55HP) and Foton (25, 40, 70 and 80HP)
The dozers and excavators are now the same company since the excavator plant bought Gulin.

Since Foton makes a 55HP I too wonder about the logic of continuing with the Benye. They do have several 55s in stock at present.

I went out and read the stickers on my tractor...one quotes engine specs and the other is tractor specs...couldn`t make heads or tails as there is a lot of chinese mumbo jumbo....either i got my info from the R.K.O. sales man or from Fultons web page..But it looks and sounds like a Perkins 3 cyl ..any how it sure works good,so far...kinda hate to get rid of the Ford 3000...but something gotta go pretty soon....Case is going first though....Sid
