Boy I would hope they fix these problems too. Must be uncommon because they sure aren't hurting sales. Who would buy one knowing these problems exist? Maybe they will find a fix before mine developes any of these symptoms. Now you have me all worried.

Surely you're aware that there is a class action lawsuit for this very issue.... you're not ignorant of that as well

What did I say to offend you? Yes I am aware of the suite. I am not participating in the suit because I haven't had that issue as haven't a majority of owners. I am not ignorant of anything relating to my truck. In fact probably more educated on my specific truck than most if not all service departments in this country. What brought you to such a harsh conclusion. Good morning right back at you and welcome to this ford thread as well.

Funny you calling me ignorant when I educated you on your own ram truck when you didn't know your payload. I still haven't been thanked for that teaching. Here is the link to refresh your memory. You should learn about the specifics of your own vehicle before trying to educate others on theirs.

You know if you weren't sooo self rightous, maybe you wouldn't have so many issues with the other members. Looking at your choice for a truck,
you really shouldn't be so smug.

Bragging constantly about your stripper 2WD, which has no re-sale, is completely inadequate for what you want to do with it.. who would buy a 2WD truck to pull and launch a boat trailer with. It's comical.

My truck is far from a stripper. Just because I choose a 2wd upsets you for some reason. It launches my 23' boat and never slips a tire. For the one or two days a year we get snow in southern Indiana, 4wd is not financially logical. I have a jeep wrangler with a 12,000 lb winch for those fun days and keep my stripper truck in the warm garage.

If stating the positive experience I have had with my truck is bragging, so be it. My next truck may or may not be another Ford. Just depends on what is available that year and if it happens to be another make that provides me a positive experience, I will be on here stating so just the same.

I hope they fix the issues soon too, maybe then Ford can offer a 100,000 mile powertrain waranty like RAM and GM rather than screwing the customer after 60k miles... Have you ever wondered why Ford doesn't offer a 100k mile powertrain warranty on your Ecoboost or any gas engine for that matter?

So now "uncommon" isues lead to class action suits? They sell because most Ford customers buy on ads and numbers instead of quality. Ford created the worst diesel in history (6.0l) which also was plagued with issues that lead to another class action suit. Were those issues "uncommon" as well?
They still sold more than the GM and Dodge because of blind loyalty and a very good fleet program.

SRT-10 was a Viper V10 not a HEMI but yes it was rated 9 cty / 14 hwy. So Chrysler made the PT Cruiser just so they can offset a specialty vehicle like the Ram SRT-10? I dont think so... Funny thing is those PT Cruisers are so good they have a cult-like following.

They offer a 5 year power train warranty just like the Ram. I only drive about 12,000 miles a year so there is no advantage for me to get the 5year/100,000 warranty.

I wasn't arguing anything about the pt cruiser. Just answering a question that came up on the subject.

Better hope you don't drive 12,001 miles a year or you won't get that full 5 years of warranty.

So Fords are not meant to be driven over 13k per year? They should advertise that...

Yeah, there is also that stipulation of no more than 32.9 miles per day that sometimes comes back and haunts me. My goal is to hit 59,999.9 and have an engine and transmission failure. Some bean counter at Ford has obviously weighed the need of offering a better warranty to attract more buyers and deemed it unnecessary. I know it has worked well for the Korean manufactures to attach customers.

If it's not a Ford, you'll have to find another forum because this one bans those stating good experiences with non-Ford vehicles and questioning false statements made by Ford owners...

I am against false statements as well. Hopefully I am not guilty of that. You must have a lot of experience with this forum yet you have few posts. What is your non incognito screen name?

guys, chill please.
always a good idea for new members to learn and think before they post.
it was a lesson I learned the hard way myself here.
there's not much that irritates long time members more than when someone new jumps in with both feet flailing
and tries to set the record straight, on just about everything...
this is a friendly discussion, right?

I for one will say that if anything, this forum has made me open-minded. I am still relatively young compared to many of you (29) and I grew up in an anti-Ford household. The reason I bring up the age thing is that a lot of that is still fresh in my memory and I sort of followed that mentality. My dad did own a few ford that I remember from my teenage years because he got a good price on them. He constantly complained about them anytime he had to do anything to them, but if he had a problem with one of the other makes, it was considered just "normal" wear.

All of the reading I have done here has opened my mind and I pay attention to other things now. I know plenty of people that own fords that still love them. I work on my BIL's F-150 and can't say too many bad things about it that I couldn't say about any other manufacturer. If you are biased to begin with, then anything the "enemy" brand does wrong is amplified in your mind. I think it just comes down to luck and maintenance. I have an old Ram 2500 and it has been far from trouble free, but I still like it and can't say that it has been a bad truck. I bought that truck when I was twenty and really gave it some abuse in the first few years of ownership.

I am currently (lazily) looking for a new truck. I am in no hurry, but am always on the search. I will not necessarily discount Ford from my search as I would have in the past. I still prefer Dodge or GM because I have been around them and familiar with them so a Ford would be at the bottom of the list, but not out of the question. Heck, I almost bought an '05 f-350 off of someone I know with the dreaded 6.0 psd, just because it was a good deal. I thought about it too long (like 6 months) and he ended up selling it right when I got more serious. I would even consider a Toyota if they made a 3/4 ton. I still can't jump on the Nissan bandwagon yet only because I do have a little exposure to their cars (mostly a couple maximas and altimas) and hate the way that they do things, it's like they intentionally make things difficult and expensive to fix.

The point is, this forum has helped me to remove my bias (somewhat) and become a more informed buyer. All trucks can have problems, and I can't really claim that one brand is worse than any other. Sorry for such the long post to make such a small point.
