From the article:

"A full-size truck implies that you can fix a leaky pipe," explains Amy Danise, editorial director of Insure.com.

They should spend a few hours in the parking lot at Lowes or Home Depot. Some of the most helpless men I see are driving clean pickup trucks. I once even watched a guy lay down plastic before putting mums in the bed of his Toyota pickup....

Hmm...what difference does it make to you what someone else does with their truck? You feeling inferior with yours?

I will put my "fix it" skills up against yours any day. And I bet my spotless truck is cleaner and probably more capable too.]

Knock it off with the stereotypes.

Sorry man, I was just joking around about that ridiculous article. You're welcome to come demonstrate your fix-it skills any time!

Well at least we know that all we need to buy is a shiny black F1 50 and all those cowgirls will just mosey on over. Although frankly I know a lot of women who would read this article and say what a pile of cra#. But if we happen to be driving a black F1 50 now I'm sure we'd think there would be a lot of just plain common sense here.
It's funny, I can't remember ever owning a black car or truck. Maybe it was growing up on a farm with a long dusty gravel driveway. But cars that looked really amazing when they are spotless can be demanding mistresses when that cloud of dust rolls back over your vehicle. Although I have had plenty of navy blue cars and trucks and that color is almost as bad.

I can just see the international Harvester tractor advertisement now
the proud farm wife looks out at her man with his fleet of shiny red tractors, her favorite color of course and she smiles a Madonna like smile and softly says
if it ain't red I won't take it to bed…

My Father has a F-150 and even though it has the 5.5 foot bed it still gets used and can get overloaded. but a Crew Cab F-150 with a 8,10, or 12 foot bed would certainly be a lot more useable.

I agree...I was only kidding too..My truck is kept clean, although I don't cover the bed floor when I'm using the truck as a truck...Geeze, guess some don't know when we're just kidding around. Even I got that.

Until you have to park it! :)

My crew cab Super Duty with the 6.75' bed is long enough...I can only imaging adding another 3-5' in length!

I'm like you. I have nearly $100,000 in my two trucks. I keep them clean but they get worked daily. A wash once a week minimum and a good in and out detail every month. It's too big of an investment to let go to crap for a poor working guy like me.

Parking in town would be very hard with a longer vehicle.
