Forks New forks - What are your favorite uses?

How do you keep this from tipping up off the forks ?
Also what keeps it from sliding off the end of the forks ?

My forks are set up so they can also be picked up by the quick hitch (I-match) on the 3pt. to bring firewood into the garage on pallets when the snow plow is on the front.

Also, made some snap-on spacers from plastic pipe to easily adjust the spacing on these Deere forks.

What about the kind that mount on the front of the bucket? Any reason not to get that type? I have some tin and some landscape timbers I was thinking about today and how I was going to move them with my new front end loader....

I would not get the clamp on forks that go on the bucket for safety as they will put your center of gravity out farther and also puts the load out farther and that could be a bad thing plus depending on how much you lift with them it will put alot of stress on the bottom of the bucket.

I have this shovel attachment that slides over the forks which is very handy for digging a hole for planting a bush or for digging up a bush or small tree for transplant. Much faster than mounting the BH and the fact that you can dig from the front side is critical if you don't want to damage the foliage.

Digs about 4ft down and is pretty quick but not as fast as a BH. Works well for digging or cleaning ditches. It does require moving the tractor to dump a shovel of dirt unless you have just a small amount which can be dumped in front of the hole.

Congrats on forks--they are very useful.

I use mine for deliveries from Home depot that arrive on pallets.
My biggest use is for trees (large trees)when I de-root or take down a tree I carry the entire tree to where ever I want and cut it for firewood, saves my back since I can no longer bend down.

I don't recall the vendor (possibly Northern Tool) but if you search on Quickspade I think you will find it. There are two types. One for forks and one that is designed for buckets. The forks version is cheaper (about $150) and digs much deeper.

This doesn't replace a backhoe but does beat the heck out of shovel work when a BH is not available or inconvenient.
