Went to the dealer to pickup my 3rd SCV Kit and while there I saw a new 3520 Cab had been delivered, it had the 3rd SCV on it so I just wanted a visual on how it would go on mine...while looking out back there I saw a sticker which isnt on mine right by the fuel filler saying

"Use Only Low or Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel"

Anything different or just a new sticker to make the tree huggers happy?

Nothing THAT new... it's the EPA regs that were adopted about 2 years ago to further reduce the amount of sulfur in diesel fuel - USLD.

Lot's of discussion on the oil, lube, fuel forum here on TBN.

I think that the standard for the Low-Sulfer-Diesel fuel was 15ppm of sulfur and the new Ultra-Low is 5ppm. (Other more knowledgeable folk's can further clarify..) As well, I don't believe the new fuel is available in No. #2 weights any longer during the non-winter season; year-around is now No.#1.

Older cars, trucks, and tractors were designed to utilize the sulfur as a lubricant - especially in the fuel injection pumps and the USLD has caused problems for many owner's of those older machines. So, lot's of folk's have started using fuel supplements - Stanadyne, Power Service, etc.

My new JD 110 has a sticker on the fuel tank regarding USLD use. I'll continue to mix Power Service --- anyways...

AKFish,
Yeah I'm painfully aware of the regs on the "road" equipment and soon to all other uses...but I just found it interesting that my manual calls for the LSD, and on this new one they say ULSD is OK too...Just more of a comment then anything.

I mix Powerservice in everything I have...even my Home Furnace...last time I had it cleaned the tech was amazed at how clean it was....

So what do you run in your tractor on or off ROAD?
I know what I'D be using if i heated my home like you do.

My dilemma was the tank is in the basement...there is NO WAY I would crack a bung open, stick a hand pump in it and fill up 5gal containers from it...one drop spilled on the floor and the basement would reek for weeks on end....doesnt bother me but SWMBO would not be a happy camper for my stinking up the house....Before getting the 3520 I only used 12-15 Gallons a year in my F935 so it wasnt worth a 300.00 pump & plumbing, but now I think I'll be considering it. Another thing holding me back is in the future I do plan on building a garage/workshop for just MY toys, in it I'd have a tank for heating & fueling the toys..

3*it wasn't worth a 300.00 pump &plumbing,

1*But you could have them fill a 15 or 30 gallon drum when they delivered the HHO couldn't you?
2*So what are you running in the 3520 Off road on Road or HHO?
3*I've got $300.oo or less in my whole pump and drum set up.
It was well worth the money to get away from lifting lugging and pouring from heavy awkward 5 gallons cans even if I only used 12 to 15 gallon a year.
Go back to the 5 gallon cans-no way!

1) Debatable....my former boss tried to get a 50 gal drum filled once while they delivered to the house and they refused...HHO is for "HH Use ONLY"...the slips I get when they deliver state the same thing.. "Not for use in Marine, Off Road, On Road, or Stationary Power Equipment.

2) Currently running ULSD On Road in the 3520 & F935, no fuel stations close by have Off Road at the pump...

3) The "Stealth" setup I am planning is gonna require a decent pump...I figure its gonna have to lift the fuel 6-8 Feet (out of the basement and up to the fuel fillers on the tractors) and thru about 15' worth of plumbing

This pump has a 36' lift.
It pumps through 33 feet of hose with ease.
$99.oo from Northern Tool.I paid 69 bucks for it on sale.
No need to blow 200 or 300 dollars on a pump!

This just B M B.
They exempt the red stuff from the tax while at the same time do their best to see to it that you can't get it or if you do obtain it they outlaw using it in order to force you to pay the on road tax even though the fuel is being used off road.
Typical Government scam!

There is no way in H I'd be buying on road for my tractors if I had 2 or 3 hundred gallons of fuel sitting in a tank at home.

The only explanation for this it to force you to pay tax on off road used fuel.
