1*I know of a couple stations which DO sell the Off Road, but driving 25 miles @ 16 mpg &3.93/gallon (today...just filled it) in my truck to save 2-3 bucks of tax is "penny wise, pound foolish" in my book
2*Does that pump work good? I seen it but was wondering about it, I was looking at the 115v Tuthill versions.

1*Same here but they are in 2 different directions from me.
The nice thing about it is one of them is only about 4 miles from the credit union I deal with.
I have gotten 20 to 30 gallon a few times when I had to go to the credit union and was in that area anyway.
But you're rite it isn't worth it to make a special trip 25 miles to get it.
2*It works great so I see no reason to pay 2 or 3 hundred bucks for a pump.
I'd recommend one of these pumps, or this one
http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_6970_200351096_200351096.
Buy which ever one of them you might happen to find on sale for the lowest price.
All of the other pumps mount directly to the drum or tank which I don't like because it makes the tank and the suction tube support the weight of the pump.
That also means it's harder to remove the drum to take it to get it filled and the drum is top heavy and it's awkward to take the drum to get it filled with the pump setting on top of it.
The 2 pumps I recommended can be mounted to a shelf bench table top or some sort of bracket totally independent of the tank or drum.
Makes for easy quick separation of the drum from the set up and the pump stays home.
I don't recommend a 115 volt pump because of power failures.
With a 12 volt pump you can always find a battery to run the pump on.
There is a guy in this thread that has the same pump that I have.

I have also posted all about my set up in the thread.
