What a great project! I recently finished a 50x50 for my ranch. Metal building, concrete slab, lots of OHD. It's really nice to be able to keep things inside after so many years of outside storage. I also built a shed/shop on the inside, stick-framed, 12x24. I keep tools and other items in it, along with a workbench and more.

My 50x50 has an additional 10 foot wing on each side, still under the metal roof, but not enclosed (IOW, the slab was 50x70). In hindsight, I would have made these even bigger. Turns out there are lots of things that are nice to keep under cover, but not necessarily inside/enclosed. Firewood, for example. Or extra flagstones from paving projects. Etc.

Thanks for the additional info. I'm looking forward to seeing that 14 foot door installed. I've been playing around with plans for my barn and I've decided that my main door needs to be 14 feet tall. My backhoe is 13 feet tall, so if I'm gonna do it, I need to plan for that.

You will love the building. We have a 40' X 60' enclosed metal building which has 20' roof extensions along both of the 60' sides, with a concrete floor under the entire 80' X 60' footprint. We have two 12' X 12' garage doors (I was thinking of smaller doors and am glad we went with the larger doors). We keep all of our attachments either inside or under one of the roof overhangs, depending on whether or not the particular attachment really needs to be kept out of the weather. All of our attachments are on dollies, which greatly helps with both storage and putting the attachments on the tractor. As noted by the prior posters, the building will shrink, so my only advice is to resolve doubts in favor of bigger and more capacity if feasible and within the budget. Best wishes with the building.

Nice! That's about the only change I would make to mine, 20' wings instead of 10'.

Mopardude, not sure if you are into new mopars or vintage. But the new building will house my 1969 Hemi Roadrunner. 426 hemi engine, dual 4 barrel carb factory standard, air grabber intake, super trak pak option. All original. :)

Oh and I usually average about 4mpg.

Sure looks nice!

I was impressed at how well they drove when I had my metallic green 69 Road Runner... it came in as a trade on a 1976 CVCC Honda Civic... gas lines... Had a Super Bee for awhile too... brings back memories.

Working at a car lot in the 70's had it's advantages... Z28, Indy Pace Camaro Convertible, 442 Cutlass Convertible, 340 Duster, 64 T-Bird Convertible... that car sold for $1200 and was mint... everybody was going Japanese, Vega, Pinto, etc... The 18,000 mile 340 Duster with 4spd was traded in on a Datsun B210!!!

oh good lord. what a car that is! Jeeze louise!! Yes, I'm into old mopars! I'm more into A-body's, they're cheaper!! LOL. I have a '68 fastback cuda that I converted to a factory 4 speed setup. then I blew the 318 up by over'-revving. LOL. It's just an old rusty heap that I have fun in, but one day i'll send it off for blasting and painting, it needs a quarter panel, a trunk floor and trunk extensions.

I also have a '70 Dart that I'm building up, thats a slow long process. But as of right now, they are both sitting outside under some big 'ol tarps. lol. my interests have now turned into tractors! I contemplate, Do I put the 4 grand I managed to save towards a hydraulic land plane grading scraper, (which I'd really love to have for my jacked up dirt road) or body work on my cuda!! or...towards the 24'x24' concrete slab for a pole barn!!

im all over the place.

I'll bet you miss the 340 Duster 4-speed. You can build those 340 powered A body cars to be as fast, or faster than the B body vehicles. Is the Dart also a 318?
