New Garden is getting close to being ready

My plan is in the fall to build fence panels for the ends. That way I can take the ends out and rototill and run the bedder through to make rows. The end posts are spaced to allow 2 rows between posts. I still have to add three wires of electric fence and a solar fence charger. I also need to cut the posts even...

Chris

Guantanamo ain't got anything on you. Nice job, so far.

For some reason, I've never had a garden problem caused by deer, and we got plenty of them here.

That's a really nice fence, but here the raccoons wouldn't let that fence do much more than slow them down for a few seconds!

It will slow them down a whole bunch when they hit the electric wires I'm going to put up... LOL... The plan is for a solar charger....
I've had issues with Raccoons with my previous garden...

Yeppir, putting an electric wire at the top just might work. Somebody told me several years ago that setting a radio out in the corn rows playing loud would scare them away. I tried it, only took four days before they were leaving the corncobs laying right next to the radio, so I guess they liked the station I picked for them.

That's funny Gunny,

You could play some of that Techno crap but I think it would damage the corn....

I plan on a string of electric at about 8 inches off the ground one near the top of the fence and one about 4 to 6 inches above that.....

Regards,
Chris.

Weather up here this weekend was total crap. I did get a little break yesterday in the afternoon. Too wet to go out and hang the rest of the fence on the garden. So I fell back the other projects. We had a small chicken coop we had crushed down and I've been loading that into dumpsters. that and lots of field fencing from along the road that I pulled out. this stuff fills 15yrd dumpsters fast.... even crushing it down with the tractor....

Anyway, the coop is good, and the dumpster will go this week. Now I can brushhog the area on the top side of the garden and till up some space for corn. when that is done, I'll be able to put the mower on and cleanup the lawn..

Regards,
Chris
