Hello Everyone, I just picked up my first Cub today, a GT2544. I looked around at Simplicity's and Huskqvarna but I have always liked the looks of the Cubs ( can't stand yellow seats) and the 2544 with bagger was right about what I wanted to spend. I have to say after an hour of riding around the yard I really like it. I have about 2.5 acres. I also picked up filters and oil at the dealership and paid less for them than I could find them on the internet or eBay for. Most of the locals are John Deere fans and I have heard allot of trash talk about Cubs but after spending a few hours on this website reading I am confident I made a great choice. I had an 89 Ariens GT-18 that was my Dad's . It was pretty much worn so I advertised it for $750 with snowblower and tiller. I had more a calls than I could answer and The first guy that looked at it took it. Maybe I sold it to cheap. Anyway I am really glad I found this site and will be on here regularly to keep updated. Thanks for all the information. I am in Northwest Pennsylvania, our last snowfall was this past Tuesday so it looks like a couple of weeks before the grass needs cut.

I bought my 2180 against the wishes of (other forum) members, and have 3 excellent years with it, in fact, I went out and bought a Z-Force 50 last spring due to the satisfaction I have had with the 2180.

Hopefully you will have the same result as I have. The 2180 makes a nice backup to my ZTR, and does all the trailer pulling for my wife. The 2180 has a 18 HP Briggs Vanguard, and the Z-Force a Kohler Command, 23 HP. Top of the line in my book, of course, there is always better and worse, but great stuff for residential use.

It's up to 72 degrees today and I'm on the couch with the flue. The grass doesn't need cut yet but allot of leaves from last fall to clean up. Maybe tomorrow.

Really? Someone recommended against a 2180? Hehee.. no way it could have been from the more 'informed' forums like this. :) Those are sweet machines w/ the mitsubishi built vanguard. I almost pulled the trigger on a new leftover 2004 2180 back in 2005. It was a deal at the time for something like $2400 out the door price. I wound up getting a 2544 because I liked the slightly roomier seating, the 44" deck and the larger front wheel/tires.

Picked up my 2004 LT2180 spring of 2006 at Tractor Supply for $1899. The tractor was new but had sat for some time and had a lot of sun damage to the hood. But I love the thing. Just a awesome tractor.
