With that amount of ground and the climate down there I would sure be wanting a cab tractor also. At the current time a lot of grain belt tractors are available for lower prices because of the low price corn market, check around for dealer / brokers that transport equipment from the Midwest.

I would see what dealers are close to you. I agree that if you are going to be mowing 40 acres than I'd go large enough to run a good sized shredder. I would not go with a smaller tractor initially unless you plan on keeping it around for later. There are certain things a small tractor is a better option than the large one. I owned a Mahindra once and it was just not as nice a tractor as my Kubota tractors. Not sure about Kioti. I'd certainly make sure there is a good dealer fairly close that hopefully will be around for years to come.

You’ll thank yourself for getting a cab Tractor with A/C in our hot Texas summers. Staying clean is a big plus too.

Take a look at the LS Tractor XR and XU line as they come with many features standard, that are options on other brands.

I just upgraded my 3 year old LS XR4046HC to a new LS XR4155HC last week. It came standard with three rear remotes among other things. I just installed Fit-Rite hydraulic top and side links so the 3rd remote can be used to control the blade angle cylinder on my 96” rear blade.

It also has a control to raise / lower the 3-point hitch from rear of the Tractor.

The 3-point, on the new XR4155HC is CAT 2 as well.

Hey Rick if you dont mind me asking what dealer did you get your LS at? There is one in Fairfield not to far north of where we are buying and going to swing by on Saturday to take a look. Will the XR4155HC handle a 8 shredder? I agree on a cab, my father in law will doing a lot of work and at 81 I think he値l enjoy the cab.

I致e been studying the LS brand and their offering and have been pretty impressed with it. The 4155 is a 55hp. I have had a 7 shredder and now an 8 in addition to the 15 batwing. I think the 8 pulls easier than the single spindle 7 which was a load on my old 55hp tractor. I think it would be fine. Glad you like the cab idea. You and your FIL will be very happy with it. For the amount of land you could go up a bit and maybe pull a 12 batwing. Just depends on how much your going to be mowing and what your time is worth to you. If you don稚 need to be hauling tail a smaller hp machine can handle the 12 ok.
