Hi all, I'm new here and look forward to "meeting" you all.

I recently acquired a JD 110 (an oldie but I couldn't resist) that came with a front blade. I am having a challenge figuring out the linkage to raise and lower it. I have one rod with clevis ends that fits the mower lift linkage under the tractor but it's not long enough to reach the clevis attach point on the blade. Am I missing a rod / link or missing the point?

Cheers
Andy

To the TBN forum Andy. We are glad that you decided to join with us here.
I can't help with that problem but I am sure one of the many experts here will be able to.

Do you ever stop and look at the bottom of you boots just to make sure that your name is still painted there???? :D

Andy, Another place to try is Weekend Freedom Machines. I haven't been over there in a while but they used to be good for older JD.

jdparts.deere.com = free online parts manual. not the greatest thing to look at. but does give diagrams and part numbers.

manuals.deere.com = free owners manual for blade/tractor may show additional parts for connecting / how to connect the stuff up.

There is a cable used to lift rear attachments, and maybe it is also used with that rod to lift the front blade.

Andy,
Do you have the manual or hydraulic lift?

Is the blade a JD part?

Hi Richard,
manual lift with JD 42" blade. Thanks to Ryan I was able to find a parts diagram that (I think) is the model of blade I have. It shows only one rod so that seems to answer that question. beenthere's point about a cable is interesting but without and operating manual to see how it installs I can't know. The JD site has a manual (for sale - that may or may not be the right one) which I may have to break down and buy but maybe I will get lucky yet.

Andy,

I have the JD 110 tractor and blade manual.

From the best I can tell by looking at the manual, there should be a rod going from the mower lift shaft to the blade lift pivot arm. There also should be a manual lift assist spring that attaches to the lift shaft. The other end is attached to a bracket bolted to the frame on the left side.

The lift rod connects the the lift shaft on the side nearest to the mower dept control.

I'm kinda under the weather right now, but when I feel a little better, I will make a PDF of the two manuals for you.
