Looks like you're all set for this coming hay season. Now all you need is fertilizer and rain.

Getting close - waiting on my mower.

Man, we are so wet I can't get in the pasture.

I need to figure out my fertilizer - thanks for reminding me. :)

Tell me about it, walking in cetain parts of the pasture is like walking on a water bed. I got 30 acres fertilized last Wednesday, and I have my tractor in the shop getting the clutch and steering system repaired to the tune of $5,000 for the fertilize and repairs total. I just hope I can recoup some of my losses this hay season.

Does this trailer dump the hay? There appears to be some mechanism above the axles. Even if it doesn't, it looks pretty sweet. I am used to bale wagons that the bales are loaded sideways with a tractor and unloaded by pulling an individual lever for each bale cradle.

I am not sure when I should put fertilizer out. Won't matter for awhile - it will be way too wet for a while.

Yes - it dumps to the right. All the bales at one time.

That sure is purty:)

I ain't seen a hay trailer in a long time in any other color than rust.

Wish I was wet.... dry, dry, dry here. Gonna be a drought soon if we don't get rain... Good looking trailer.... I know it will be handy. I have a 5 bale hauler too.... dumps one bale at a time... unless you undo each handle and start one rolling off, then most of the time the others will tip off, too.

Where are you located? Big storms coming tonight.

Am in Jarrell/Georgetown... north of Austin... Williamson County... as yet, Radar shows no rain within about 10 counties of us... we'll see.. lately, threats of rain have resulted in .1 to .5 inches at best, and that infrequently.

I have been thru there many times. A buddy of mine has a ranch just east of Jarrell - raises beefmasters. I better call him and see if he wants to buy hay from me.

Hope ya get rain - looks like we will get pounded.

Hay is still in the area from last year... great rain year....
Only heavy dew last night, mist today so far. Doesn't look like it has moved to your area as yet.

This is just a single purpose trailer.... that can mean 2 things:

1. you have enough work for them to justify a trailer for each job

0r 2. This simple construction (just 3 pipes) makes it so cheap that you dont have to bother about the price, to own another trailer.

Problem for me, would be storage. I dont have enough bush to park them, so i want a multipurpose trailer ;)

The main reason these hay trailers are single purpose is because it's kinda hard to off load 1500lb bales of hay when the tractor you loaded them with is at the place you just left.

After you use one of these trailers, you will figure out a way to pay for it.

Only 3 pipes? Still have axles (brakes on one axle), hitch, lights, etc. The main "pipe" as you call it is 3/8" thick.

It is faster to load hay, can unload without a tractor, and it is easier on the bales.

Also, no they aren't cheap. I paid $3750 for it. This past year I borrowed one. It made the different between getting my hay out of the field before a rain or letting it get ruined. So, it is worth it.

That's a pretty sweet hay trailer. I like how you load it from the rear and just slide them forward. How many bales can you get on that 32'? I take it that you buy directly from the manufacturer?

Thanks,

32' long, I should be able to get 8 - 4 * 6 bales on there without a problem.

I bought it from these folks:

GoBob Pipe and Steel - Continuous Fence

I had been using my 24' equipment trailer for moving bales - what a pain in comparison.

That's a pretty interesting trailer, Darin. I have never seen anything like that...I live in the east. I guess they are common in ranch country out west.

To dump, there's no hydraulics?...I noticed on the Red Rhino website...It's done by leverage? A long metal handle acts as a fulcrum to tilt the body? The bales stay put without racheting them down when transporting? I suppose it would be a good trailer to transport telephone poles, and the like too. Very interesting!
