Kubota BX2200
Hi:

This is my first time posting. I have a 3 year old BX2200 4WD that I bought new and have had very few problems with it. I use the tractor mostly to mow with and some small tasks in the orchard.

Yesterday I noticed what appeared to be a leak coming from a line connected to the power steering. This morning my son took the tractor to our dealer who indicated this was the 6th BX2200 that has come in this year with the same leaking hose (the rubber hose is cracked). Anyone else having this problem? If so what was the cure?

Thanks,

Ward.

Wecome!

I have a 2200 also, but no oil leaks.

You might try a search on the terms "2200 hose leak" in the Bota forum and see if you find stuff. I recall some I think.

My dealer is an hour away, so if mine leaks, I might call him to ask if he can provide it free. Otherwise, I'll take it off and go somewhere local to get one at about 20%of the cost.

Have fun,
ron

Mine too developed a steering hose leak, I went to the dealer, they had one in the shop with the same problem. There are some posts here about this. Dealer said he had to order the hose, instead I went to my local parts store and had it made. Was'nt much fun putting it on but got 'er done.

What's in the hose? Is it just Super UDT used for the PS?

HI WARD and WELCOME
I think the KUBOTA manuels have a maintanance schedule change for the steering hoses, not positive though.

The oil leaking is clear in color.\

Thanks for the reply.

Have changed my bx2200 hydraulic lines twice now (550 hrs) and on the second round I also pulled the hydraulic system filter, and could NOT believe the amount on shards/slivers of manufacturing dross that was in the filter. I believe this CLEAN OUT will (hope) increase the life of the hoses because they are a female dog too replace!

There are four hoses, two from the rear of the tractor to the steering box/pump/valve(?) and two from there to the steering pistons. The ones from the box to the pistons are not bad to change, the others did not look like they would be any fun, so I let the dealer do those.
