Those tillers are very expensive so the price for that set-up doesn't sound bad at all (if you can negotiate thats even better). Even though the tractor may not be in the best shape its something that can possible be upgraded in a couple years...perhaps with a 3000 series with diff lock and the cast iron rear end. As for the performance of the tiller, I know a couple people that have them and love how it works up the ground. The only problem is when it starts to get into clay the hydraulics slow down, but overall it should work fine.

im gona say go for it. ive heard that the tiller for these is wonderful and i know the tractor is a good one. you can always paint that grill or get a replacement.

Yeah, thats what I am leaning toward. To be honest the cosmetics are the least of my worries (easy fix) What I am most concerned about would be the wear and tear on motor and hydraulics and how dependable they will be for me. Everything that I have found is that this tiller is awesome, but some have concerns of the hydraulics...

at the worst you might need to replace the charge pump, which is a couple hundred dollar part. i think around 300$ but im not sure. i think i remember seeing that. honestly, your not going to get any more of a tractor without stepping into a subcompact. a kubota bx or cub sc. from what ive heard, i wouldnt be worried, and if a problem does develop, the fix isnt very expensive.

Figure if I make it to look at it tomorrow I will try to put it thru its paces as much as I can. Talked to a cub dealer today and mentioned to get it warm and make sure there is no leaks or vibrations AFTER warm. Check the rear diff oil, hydro oil. Owner said he was gonna change oil before I got there. Thank you everyone for ALL your info, now if I get it an its a lemon I know who to come complain to!!! This site has been awesome!
