All the above and... Get yourself an analog temp gage and hook it up. Idiot lights are just that, for idiots.
I clean my rads every time I change oil by soaking the rad core down with dilluted dish wash detergent in a spray bottle, let it sit for 10 minutes and hose it out in the direction the fan blow or sucks air through it. Do the same with the whole house outside AC unit. I do it 2 times a year. You'd be amazed at the crud that comes out.
