Sickle Bar New Holland 451 sickle bar ???

Ok, just got my new/used NH 451 home and am looking at it trying to figure out how to mow pond banks with bar well below horizontal. Looks like if I add some more chain links to the existing chain that controls how far the bar goes down, then I could mow pond banks. Is this how you do it or am I missisng some other adjustment?
