I need to have my lift cylinder off from the my New Holland 7106 loader repaired. (It needs to be welded) I removed it from the tractor but am unable to disassemble it. There is a nut on the end but everything spins when I turn it. I looked at the parts diagram online but don't see how to keep it from spinning. The cylinder is part # 86608112. Has anyone taken one of these apart before?
Thanks!

I do not know your specific tractor.
All I find on line is that the specific part number has been discontinued.

If you post some pictures someone like me is much better to be able to give you some advice.

Sometimes there is a large snap ring buried in the crud that holds the end on the cylinder.
These video might be relevant to your cylinder. The second video shows a similar but more complicated snap ring and retainer ring design.

The third video is a different design and requires a special removal ring.

Thanks Dave!
I found a thread on another tractor website/forum that explained it. The cylinder has to be fully extended and pressurized. That locks the cylinder head in place so the nut can be removed. Once the nut was off I just pushed that cylinder head back in revealing the circlip...removed that and walah! I used shop air to pressurize my cylinder for this. Forums like this are priceless. Thanks again for the suggestions!
