New Holland Boomer 41
I recently purchased a New Holland Boomer 41 w/ cab that didn't come with any rear remotes. I've read through several posts on TBN but can't seem to gather a clear understanding on what I need to purchase. The local dealer has quoted me $1,100 per remote ($2,200 for 2) which seems excessive.

While searching through a parts diagram online, I came across a kit that appears to have everything I need to complete this job. I've attached the diagram here. MT20140706 is $717.00 which is substantially less than the amount I was quoted.

Assuming this is correct, has anyone installed these kits themselves? I'm mechanically inclined but I've never worked on hydraulic valves specifically. I don't mind paying the dealer install fees but taking the tractor up there would be a hassle. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I've not installed one on a Boomer. The install on my 4610 SU was simple enough for me. I don't know how the parts are shipped from whole goods. The diagram itself looks simple enough to me. I would not expect any unforeseen issues. I know that transportation is an issue but have you checked with your dealer for the install cost? They may comp the transportation costs or discount them if they do the labor.

Thanks for the feedback. Did you purchase a similar "kit" or did you order parts individually?

I bought a kit off Ebay for the 4610 SU. It was a simple install. The one on your Boomer will be more involved.

The whole goods price really is not that bad. I would estimate 4 hours from the dealer on labor cost.

They may comp the transportation fees. My dealer pick's up and delivers for $30 each way to my house. I am 17 miles one way. To me that is reasonable.

It would appear that the kit gives you 2 remotes. The LS model equivalent to the Boomer comes standard with 2 remotes so that makes sense as to why the kit is that way. If it were me I would buy the kit and the service manual for the tractor from Messick's and do it myself. It would still be half what the dealer quoted. You might also check with an LS dealer to see what the kit would cost.

I installed a similar kit/kits on my Bobcat CT235. I bought each remote kit separately as I wanted a float on one set. Kioti has the float on the 2nd set, so I used the first Bobcat then Kioti. I got the seat out and started on the install, only to find I did not feel comfortable. Had dealer finish up (2 hours). Shop around using the part number as I found some screaming deals around the country. However your source is a good one. They may have some Christmas deals too.

Just recently I installed a true 3rd function using the power beyond port on the loader valve. Lots of fantastic help here made it easier. You will find my write up on this in the Bobcat Forum.
Good Luck and Merry Christmas

Great minds! I gave RCO a call as soon as I got the first quote from NH and they basically told me the same thing. Since the 2 remotes are standard on the LS, a kit wasn't available and we would have to piece it together.

I appreciate the advice! I think I'm going to give it a shot and report back. Merry Christmas!

My kit came in today and the install has been fairly straight forward. Everything is accessible after removing a rear tire , seat, and a few panels. The metal lines are somewhat hard to work with and don't seem to be extremely precise. I worked on it for a few hours and found a good stopping point. I didn't realize I needed thread sealant for the quick-connect couplings so I'll pick some up tomorrow. Also, they seem unusually snug when trying to thread. I didn't put too much effort into it since I still need sealant, but after a few turns they don't want to move much. Is this due to the high pressure requirement on the lines?

I'll take some pictures and post my notes when complete. So far, it doesn't seem too bad.
