New Holland.....good choice for a firs tractor????

Hi! We are looking for our first tractor, and are considering a 1620 with 665 hours, supposedly light duty at a landscaping company, with a loader, for $9000. We are interested, but are unfamiliar with NH, as far as how they hold up. Is there some part of them that is known for breaking down a lot, like having to rebuild the engines, or something else. The 1620 was made for about 6 years, with the last year being 1996. Below is the suggested value for the 1994 model. I selected it because you didn't say what year the tractor was you looked at, but the hours (662) are pretty low. From the figures below, your tractor with a loader seems to be a good price. I'm assuming the tractor is 4WD and a Hydrostatic transmission. I don't think there are any "gotchas" on this tractor, but if you can find someone knowledgeable to look at it for you, you can be more confident. Good luck. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The 1620 came with only a hydro trans. That sound like a good price. I have a 95 1320 with 4wd,hydro,mid-mower,606 hrs on it. I have a had no problems, and have never heard of any problems. I also owned a 94 1220 4wd,hydro,with 1500hrs, and never had no problems with it either.

Yes, the tractor is a 1997, 4wd, hydro. Are parts expensive??

I, don't know if the parts are expensive, I have never had to buy any parts.
