new holland hydraulic problem

I have a N H 3010 that the hydraulic pump gets real hot (smoking) after about 20 min the fel operates ok the 3pt wont pick up a round bale to top of travel unless rpms at 2000
please help[

I just know hyd's and not the NH, but it sounds like the wear plates are allowing fluid to slip by and the smokin part is probably the internal bearings getting worn out.

Sounds like a pressure test is in order.

A pressure test and gallons per minute will tell everything or disassemble the pump and mic the tolerences. most hyd pumps have needle bearings and even though they run in oil they do wear out. More so if any dirt got into it or moisture. I am sure that you have a gear pump which has wear plates and that is just what they do, they wear. In some cases replaceing the plates is much cheaper than the whole pump.

You don't have a remote spool kicked open do you? That would work the pump ( and relief) over pretty well.

all spools are centerd. had fel joystick rebuilt not to long ago pump was a little weak prior to that

installed new pump today operated fine until i put fel in bind then no more pressure I think the shear pin broke I will find out next weekend

Sounds like an obstruction in the fluid flow. Any "stop" or "servicing" valves closed, or internal pickup screen that needs to be cleaned or replaced?
