2013 New Holland Boomer 40
I have a 2013 NH Boomer 40. Last month is seemed to be moving slow in forward gears. I bought this tractor new. I only have 1100 hours on it. I sent it to the dealer they said its the pressure relief valve. That fix didn't work so they did the pump that didn't work. The contacted New Holland and said the recommend replacing the internal hydrostatic parts. This mean splitting the tractor BUT they can't find the parts any where. So I now have a 2013 NH that I can't use. Does anyone have any exp with this issue and ideas?

Is it tagged with LS MTRON as manufacturer. If so you can still get parts from LS Dealer. Granted some NH to LS part numbers will need to be referenced. They may also work on it but you will need to find supporting LS dealership who knows something. Lot dealers have basic knowledge need a standing dealer with knowledge. If it’s true Shibarua then you need to surf net for parts. 1100 hours is still young tractor hard to believe it has issues. What did the dealer see in the pump taken off that tells the story on the valves.

What pump was replaced by the dealer?

Has the tractor had regular maintenance including hydraulic oil and filters replaced? If only losing power going forward I would not immediately suspect bad hydrostatic trans since 99% of components are same forward as reverse.

Any idea what tests or diagnostic procedures the dealer has performed?

The tractor has been maintained regularly including hydrostatic fluid. It was just done less then a calendar year ago and low hours. The dealer assumed it was the pressure relief valve and did that, then assumed it was the pump and did that. The tractor goes great in reverse but no forward. The bucket lifts fine even loads but driving forward no go!

Im wondering if they checked for filter failure. The claimed to have called New Holland and they said " split the tractor and replace the front inter workings of the transmission"

I'm not sure I agree with that diagnosis. I'm open to ideas. I bought it new as a left over 7 years ago. TIA

Before you spend another dollar buy the own filter and see if that makes a difference. If it fixes it take your bills to the dealer and get a refund

Thanks, they didnt charge me for what they have done seen they could not fix it. I'm going to pick it up with my trailer today and I'll see if the did the filter. I'll know by the hours written on the filter, even so I'll probably replace it anyway to be sure.

If tractor operated fine in reverse I doubt that it is a filter failure issue since that should be common for both directions of operation.

First thing that comes to mind is the forward system relief valve. Should be one for forward and one for reverse. This would be something that a pressure test would reveal.

Second in not knowing how your HST operated in control problem. If direct mechanical connection to swashplate could something have slipped so only getting partial travel going forward?

If some form of two stage control again could something be preventing full pilot pressure from getting to main control stroking piston.

Without good detailed schematic I am just guessing at possible causes of this failure.

Good luck on finding the problem.

I'll keep you all posted and thanks for the input. The dealer called today and they had wrong part numbers and found the hydro trans parts to split the tractor and fix it. Should be done in a couple weeks, in the mean time i bought a new John Deere 4044 with a loader.
