New Holland loader

At the dealers current selling price, I think I would be lucky to break even if I leave the loader in its current condition and blue color. The Dx29 is very low hours and in excellent condition. Putting the loader on as it currently is significantly detracts from the overall condition of the tractor. I will let the idea sit for awhile and call another dealer I know well and get a true price of a new loader. $4350 seems a little high for a new loader without any control valves or quick attach bucket. Maybe I am off on the price of a new loader with the increasing steel prices.

I know you are smart enough and will do what makes the most sense. But as it is right now it is looking like it isn't going to make sense to add the loader just to hope to break even. Even if they drop the price another $1k you will not be making much extra on the deal to really warrant the trouble. But it would be a fun winter project if you need one

I also have a 2002 model DX33 with the Case IH L130 loader. The L130 is the NH 7308 loader painted red for your model year tractor.

Now that's some great info.:) I'm glad you cleared up that mystery.

Radman1: I think you are looking at this exactly as you should. Robert has great advice too. When I bought my TC45D in February of 2001, I paid $3700 for the 16LA loader. I think that was because the tractor was "loader ready" and had the joystick, subframe, and mounting beams already installed. If you don't plan on keeping and using the loader for yourself, I just can't see justifying that much expense. You can't afford to pay retail for a salvage loader and expect to regain your investment. The only person who will make any money is the dealer and he won't make much unless he got a steal when he bought the loaders.

Radman1, if you don't buy the loader, can you tell us who your dealer is so somebody else might take advantage of these great deals? Iron Horse kinda touched on how I feel when he said to buy all of them. I wouldn't do that, but I would sure be tempted to buy another 16LA if the price was right and the dealer was in my area. Having it to build a special loader configuration or even to scavenge for repair parts could make it worth the money.

I know you would not want to post the dealer while you are negotiating a deal, but when you finalize your decision it would be nice to know.

As you mentioned, you tractor uses the 14LA loader. Of course, Case calls it the LX114, so you will have to buy decals for it if you want to make it completely authentic looking.

The 14LA and 12LA do not have a subframe, but the 16LA and 18LA do. I would not need a subframe for an additional loader, but anyone buying the 16LA or 18LA for a tractor without a loader would need the subframe too.

I have an idea that these loaders won't last long. Like you, I think this is one heck of a great deal.
I know this is a really old thread but I am looking at a 2000 NH TC33D. The guy has a 14la loader that has never been attached . What would be needed to install? If it's possible?
Mike, you are absolutely correct. New Holland routinely FACTORY installs midship joystick valves and loader mounts on most models of their compacts. Of course, these components can still be dealer installed as well, and must be on a few models. For any compact tractor's loader attachment NOT to be operated by a joystick would be far more the exception than the norm in the last decade, as every member participating in this thread knows full well. 'Jury-rigged' is probably a little harsh, though. One reason the joystick is an option rather than standard with the loader is that a joystick can be ordered and used with a front plow or snowblower. Each of these attachments can use two hydraulic functions, and the joystick ergonomics are as natural for them as for a loader.
