I have a New Holland Model 68 Hay Baler-- We baled hay today and it sheared 7 pins on about 3 acres of hay....?? Anyone have any idea what's going on? Have used it all summer and have not had this problem... they hay was very dry... Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Knotter home position incorrect.
Knotter brake tension too light.
Needle latch linkage out of adjustment.

Get your operator's manual out and check all three adjustments IN THE ORDER LISTED.

Plunger and / or statonary knife dull or out of register, wet hat, safety stop springs plugged up with hay or chaff or mud or sticks or stones. RPM too low.

Thanks RickB for the info... unfortunately, I do not have a manual... tried to look the info up on the web, but no luck... I'll have to find a manual... just started using it this summer, it's my brother-in-laws and he doesn't have a manual

Thanks for the reply, the hay was very dry, the knife is sharp and in register.. not sure where the safety stop springs are? RPM should have been fine...
