New Holland or John Deere? Which one to buy?

well i guess you didnt want to be emailed the info i was going to send you on the new holland showing why it is better and a better deal. oh, well good luck and those parts for JD when you need them are expensive

Congrats on green! There is a reason why JD is so prevalent in utility size tractors... try finding another manufacturer that has been make'n wheel tractors buy themselvs in that size range for that long of time. JD may not have the compact tractor variety of other colors but if shopping in the utility size range like your 5055, they are it.

hey spruce deere,........John Deere is a good brand, but all you pay for is the name and color. it is sad that peopel will spend a lot more money on a tractor that is sometimes not even close to being good as other brands. Then you have parts and service and that is where it gets horrible as far as price goes. You can tell me the reason why john deere is better and higher priced is becasue they make it themselves. Yanmar makes some of there tractors, and Kioit some others. WHat is that about.

Doggone! If Ya wanted matchin' Christmas Lights, ya coulda' made it easier on the audience! The start of this debate took me back to my first car purchase. My Dad, was a staunch Buick man. I bought a '59 Ford!!! When I had my first problem, I lamented: "Those 'darn' Ford's! Shoulda bought a GM!!" His words to me: "Son, When their runnin', all of the brands are great! Again, it came down to the transmission. After all the haggling the price was almost the same. Got them to throw in the knife blade for the bucket and the quick change and come down some. Transmission was the killer on the NH.

Had to get a new ball for the new trailer. 2 -5/16". All my 3/4 and 1 ton trucks were our on jobs so I had to pick it up in my Toyota Tundra. The Mx6 mower stuck out almost 3 feet off the back of my new 20' Kearney Trailer. Man this rig is long.

Was really bouncy bringing it home. Way to much weight for my truck, but it didn't have any problems pulling it at 65. Trailer brakes worked great and the 11" disk with double pistons on the Toyota helped.

Got home around 7 and had to go to a Christmas Party. Now it 7 in the morning and pouring down Rain, and might start snowing it says. Maybe I should have gotten one with a cab with a heater and windshield wipers.

well new holland has a new tractor that is in the TT-A series and it is called the Workmaster 55, it is 55 hp with a shuttle shift and a few otehr new features. it is cheaper than the TT60A by a little bit but gives you the shuttle. still has the same TT-A design but is putting the old Ford Workmaster name back on it.

Congratulations on the new tractor! I think you picked the right one. The shuttle shift trans is 1000 times better than a manual shift. You can't go wrong with a Deere and they really hold their value well.
You do have more guts than me... pulling that load behind a Tundra. Glad it worked out for you.

I agree on checking the dealer out. I have green too, 790. Looking for a riding mower and my dealer acted like he wasn't very interested, but the MF guy up the road is!
