New Holland part cd's

Re: New Holland part cd\'s

New Holland is really behind the time on this roll out. They really need to follow the ways of John Deere (hate to say that!!) but it’s true. I used JD’s on-line parts to look up a couple parts for a JD 420 Lawn and Garden. It was great, gave you pricing and dealer availability on the parts. You can purchase on-line and pick up at the dealer.

Hi Spencer200, I hope I didn't offend you or shoot the messanger. Just wanted to let you know I appreciate the heads up, and maybe down the road here I will pick one up.

Re: New Holland part cd\'s

Don't think we would own it... must be copyrights. /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

10 years ago, few people would have spent that much for the cutting edge technical advantage.

Re: New Holland part cd\'s

I agree. These should be free. And to charge dealers to rent their information @ 190/month is insane. Look at it this way.... I figure I buy about 1000$ a year worth the merchandise from Cabela's. And I get every master catalog and all the others in between as soon as they come out. No questions asked.

I spent 20Kish for the 25D, FEL, & Backhoe. Not only should we get the cd's and updates all for free. But we shouldn't have to bother the dealers to obtain them. They should be sent upon request to any customer who bought their product.

And for the poor dealers, ha.....I can't say that....Let's just call it the American 190$/month offset program.... /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

There is probably two reasons why they are not free.

One, it does cost money to make the CD's. Also charging dealerships monthly fee's is not uncommon anymore. I know in my business we pay montly fees to our Manufacture.

But the second reason and I am just thinking would be from a liability stand point. Just because you own a tractor doesn't mean you have the ability to take it apart and try to put it back together. If someone gets hurt while trying to repair something it can end in a lawsuit. This charge could be enough to deter some people in messing with something they shouldn't. Example of a stupid law suit is one of the local hardware stores sold a guy a book on how to mix and pour concrete. Well the book did tell this guy he has to wear rubber or protective gloves /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif He didn't and he had a reaction to the mix. Well the hardware store ended up in a lawsuit because the book didn't explain the section about wearing gloves and what could happen. It was all there the guy just didn't read it. Long story short the hardware store got sued. Just maybe New Holland doesn't want these books out there.

Re: New Holland part cd\'s

But I can buy the service manual straight from NH if I want to. The service manual tells you the same thing the book on concrete mixing did. HOW to do it. The parts cd does nothing more than give you part numbers and maybe a drawing of it.

Re: New Holland part cd\'s

Then as usual I would be totally wrong. You see that's what I get for thinking. I thought the CD gave instructions on how to repare and replace. If you want scratch the previous post.

well I did get another post out of it. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
