Does anyone know if it is possible to get down pressure on the 3 point arms on a nh tc18? If so how can it be done? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I don't know if it is or isn't possible (doubt that it is, but hey anything is do-able w/ enough time and money /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif), but given how light the tractor is, would it really do any good? It would probably just pick the back of the tractor up and then you've lost traction.

Here's a Link to a previous TBN discussion about adding downpressure to a 3PH.

I think I'd phrase that as 'possible.. but not practicle'.

As other posts have atested.. an external hyd cyl on swivels on the lift arms.. mounted to an appropriate placed frame or brace somewhere abov the lift arms or lower lift arms would work.

I've seen an extra rocker arm welded onto one upper lift arm, and a ram attatched horizontally back to a frame on the tractor provide down pressure to an older tractor... very possible. Depending on what you have to work with, and how much welding and fabrication needs to be done.. could be anything from a few hundred bucks in a cyl and a bracket and an unused remote.. to 300-400 to add a spool.. etc...
