Need advice on New Holland TC18. I have 6 acres and want to know if a very low hour 1 yr old TC18, with 60" rear discharge is adequate. Also what is the worth of the tractor alone. The land is about 4 acres of lawn, some of it is rough. I would also like information on a loader and backhoe..pros..cons. Thanks.

Is it Hydrostat? Don't remember if the TC18 came in 2wd drive or not, but if so is it 2 or 4? Does it have FEL? If hydro & 4wd, I would be thinking 9000 +/-. With FEL add about $1500. Prices vary greatly by region, so your mileage may differ. Prices in the NE seemed to run a little higher than most regions.

I paid 7k for mine. 2 years old, 268 hrs, 60'' JD rear finish mower, 48'' Howard rotovator. I think I got a heck of a deal though. One thing to look for is if it has power steering or not. Mine does not have power steering, but most do. I do have a front end loader, and when full, it takes two arms to turn the wheel. Just something to think about.

I bought mine new in 2001 and gave $8300 not including tax. Mine has the 6x2 transmission. No loader ,backhoe or power steering. I mow about 10 acres with mine using a Bushhog SQ420 bushhog.

I bought mine brand new 18 months ago. It has power steering, four wheel drive, 6x2 transmission, but no front end loader. I paid $8300 for it then.

Does anyone think they might hold their value pretty well, since you can't buy them anymore?

I have R4 tires and I use a rear finish mower with a 60 inch deck, and use this as my primary mower on 3.6 acres. I can't give you any experience with a loader, but I sure wish I had one!

This little tractor is an animal with a loader. I bought a Bush Hog loader for mine, and I love it. I would like a toothbar in the near future. I moved 63 tons of stone with it when building my shop. Handled it with no problem. I also have moved quite a bit of topsoil. Some day when I'm rich and have a dedicated mowing machine, I will install ag tires and really see what it can do.
