Update, did as you suggested, found that the cable ball end had come out of the bracket to the accelerator. The set screw had worked its way lose, threaded it back on and stayed in place. Big thank you!!Follow the linkage from the pedal up to where it connects to the throttle linkage. Look for any loose or disconnected attachment points.
