New Holland TC29DA
Tractor is about 4 years old. I was brush hogging the other day and all of a sudden.....no traction. I was able to drive it to the barn....real slow. It goes into all gears but the tractor just creeps forward, no speed when stepping on the accelerator. I checked the transmission fluid and it was low. A quart or so made it read on the dipstick. Alas, I still am having the same problem. Is there something else I should looking for?

I would bet it is your fuel filter...check your manual there is a good section there on replacing the fuel filter..If you don't have a manual go to Messick's | Dealer for New Holland, Case IH, Kubota, Cub Cadet and More | Online Parts, Sales & Service. and they have an illustration I believe. The fuel filter is on the right side of the tractor and has a glass bowl. Just put in a new filter and I will bet you will be up and running in no time. You mentioned you were bush hogging so be sure to check your radiator screen to be sure it is not covered up with debris as well. Good Luck.

Sounds like a clutch slipping to me. Check your clutch for 1/2" to 3/4" free pedal play. Perhaps something lodged in the clutch pedal and it is not moving all the way to engage the clutch. The engine revving and the tractor only slowly moving is the classic symptom for a slipping clutch. You could also have a seal leak that is allowing oil onto the clutch and causing it to slip. This is normally accompanied by some smoke as the oil gets hot.

Also, you mentioned "all the gears" but your title says "TC29DA." Do you mean all "ranges" instead of gears? HSTs would have three ranges. If you have a gear only tractor, it would be a TC29A instead of a TC29DA.

Here's what I did guys since it needed it anyway. Drained almost 9 Gals. of hydraulic oil and put in fresh. Changed engine oil and filter. Changed fuel filter and O rings and bled system. Everything was filthy. Radiator is not blocked. I am looking in my owner's manual to check the clutch fluid, but I'll be darn if I can find the drain plug by looking at the diagram. Where the heck is it? I followed the clutch pedal but still can't find the drain plug. I am new to tractors but not stupid to mechanics, but I sure do feel that way now. As far as a seal leak, I am getting no smoke. Thanks guys for any help here.

Is it a TC29DA? If it is; it is a hydro unit.

It is a TC29DA. It creeps forward in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and reverse gear with it in range I.

There is NO clutch fluid in your tractor. If you manual says that, it is wrong. You have a dry clutch that is probably slipping. What happens is that the clutch wears and you need to adjust the pedal's free play to allow the clutch to fully engage. The more you let your clutch slip, the more it wears out. Your looking for "clutch fluid" makes me think you should get someone with experience to help you with this.

Sounds like hydro pedal needs attention. Check to see if all linkage is attached under footrest and remove shroud on right side of lower shroud under steering column. ( two screws attaching two sides together and two bolts at firewall.

Stuck in turtle mode? Did you try Turtle-Rabbit switch?

turtle/rabbit mode is not used on class II units
